Biography
Jane Gerard was born with a passion for animals and the world of nature. Fortunately growing up in the Bahamas enabled her to develop her swimming and diving skills at a very young age.
Then her interest in horses inspired her to seek a career as an Asst. Instructor with The British Horse Society. As fate would have it, her swimming skills combined with her training in horse management gifted her to be the perfect candidate to work with dolphins and sea-lions, a career that spanned seventeen years. During these years Jane continued her education gaining credits in wildlife
conservation (East London University) and Animal and Zoo Management (National Extension College Cambridge).
Jane recalls, I had a dream when I was young that all the animals talked to me, they were my family, and that I would be able to tell people what the animals needed and to help them, for they cannot speak our language, so we must learn to speak theirs.
Her vision has always been to have a sanctuary for the wildlife that is constantly under threat from human activity and to invite people to come and learn, especially young people. The Complete Pet Ranch is the realization of the dream and a result of many years hard work. The intent is to help owners understand their animals through compassion and patience and to have a little fun!
